Charles Haddon (C.H.) Spurgeon (June 19, 1834 – January 31, 1892) was a British Particular Baptist preacher who remains highly influential among Christians of different denominations, among whom he is still known as the "Prince of Preachers." This despite the fact that he was a strong figure in the Reformed Baptist tradition, defending the Church in agreement with the 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith understanding, against liberalism and pragmatic theological tendencies even in his day.
In his lifetime, Spurgeon preached to around 10,000,000 people,[1] often up to 10 times each week at different places. His sermons have been translated into many languages. Spurgeon was the pastor of the congregation of the New Park Street Chapel (later the Metropolitan Tabernacle) in London for 38 years.[2] He was part of several controversies with the Baptist Union of Great Britain and later had to leave that denomination.[3] In 1857, he started a charity organization called Spurgeon's which now works globally. He also founded Spurgeon's College, which was named after him posthumously.
Spurgeon was a prolific author of many types of works including sermons, an autobiography, a commentary, books on prayer, a devotional, a magazine, poetry,[4] hymnist,[5] and more. Many sermons were transcribed as he spoke and were translated into many languages during his lifetime. Arguably, no other author, Christian or otherwise, has more material in print than C.H. Spurgeon.

I love all do Sprgeon's works. Sometimes works are repeated in different volumes but that ok. I rank him pretty close to Martyn Lloyd Jones. His morning and evening readings are excellent and me favorite
Wow! God really gave Charles the gift of preaching and teaching. So profound and so touching. This book is really worth reading.
Charles H. Spurgeon was a mere lad when these sermons were delivered. He never preached in his own power and that simple efficacy of the Spirit of God is prominent in all of his messages. Go into your closet and meditate on the rich truths unveiled by God's humble servant.
I am enjoying reading the Spurgeon's Sermons . His writings are very interesting and historical. I have been studying his writings.
I have been Christian all my life, and there were concepts in the Faith, such as the Trinity, that I never understood. After reading this book, I understand for the first time, and I can honestly say that reading this has increased and enriched my faith.
The font is WAY TOO SMALL!!! I know the publisher wanted to keep the book to a decent length - but it's very uncomfortable to read with such a small font. I use a ruler under each line!
The content of this text is of course fantastic. My review is specifically for the format. There is no TOC. So getting to a specific sermon is a tedious process. Eventually I just page-marked the beginning of each sermon which was a pain to say the least.
There is another publisher, The Christian Classics Ethereal Library, who has an excellent version of this with great navigation. Yes, it costs more, around $2.99. But in this case it is well worth the extra stones. I did and just deleted this version.
